10/01/10 - Just to add insult to injury, Rich Kelly just finished rebuilding his "Great Planes Giant 25% YAK 54 3D" plane and was on its solo flight when Rich lost his perception and plowed into the corn field while making an approach from the left side of the airfield. Did I say plowed? It was more like Rich tried to plant his plane in the corn field. Unfortunately as the first picture shows there's no more money right now to rebuild this plane and as the second picture shows this plane is definitely not reparable this time around. At least Sponge Bob braced for impact and was not harmed.
09/04/201 - For better or worse, Andre' Brisbon crashed his "Phoenix Models Sonic 25 Low Wing" on the right side of the "U" on the left side of the airfield while watching wife, Charisma, crash on the left side.
09/04/201 - While making an approach from the left side of the airfield Charisma Brisbon didn't quite line up with the "U" cut in the trees and planted her "Phoenix Models Sonic 25 High Wing" in the top of the Oak tree to the left of the "U".
08/18/2010 - While making an approach for a landing a gusty crosswind caught Rich Kelly's "Great Planes Giant 25% YAK 54 3D" plowing it into the tree line along the drive into the airfield.
08/18/2010 - While making an approach for a landing a gusty crosswind caught Bill Hudson's "Great Planes Super Sportster 60" causing it to cart-wheel twice before breaking the fuselage in two over the wing.
08/18/2010 - Here's another picture of Rich Kelly's "Great Planes Giant 25% YAK 54 3D" looking at the broken firewall. At least the engine and prop were spared. However, the cowl wasn't so lucky.
08/18/2010 - A $200.00 smoke system is only good for one "puff" of smoke if the supply line comes disconnected. I.E. If your smoke stops "puffing" don't keep hitting the smoke switch ... it only pumps the smoke fuel into your fuselage.
07/21/10 - I think Tanner High is trying for the "Crash of the Month". In the first picture he sits on his bumper smiling in front of what is left of his 60 size "Revolver" [That's the pile of balsa sitting to the right]. The second picture shows what was left of his engine. This is the second model lost to impacting with Mother Earth in a week! Talk about having a bad luck streak!
07/17/10 - Tanner High was unable to regain control from a flat spin when his rudder servo over extended itself causing his "Matt Chapman" to crash on the edge of the airfield.
06/19/10 - Mike Redman's "Hobbico Superstar" lost its right wing for no apparent reason just over the edge of the woods behind the Connex. This resulted in Mike's plane turning into a "Dart" over the tree tops.
05/19/10 - Rick Reedy charges up his retracks on his "P40 Warhawk" with the help of his friend, Rick Meyers. Unfortunately, his take-off didn't go so well. After several hours and several volunteers, his plane was finally found back in the woods where the corn field is to the left of our airfield.
05/19/10 - Mike Redman lost control of his 40 size, kit built "Eindecker", powered by a Magnum 52 4 stroke, and found the ground along the edge of the airfield just pass the wind sock. This plane is repairable and should be back in the air in no time.
05/12/10 - Bob Mason's "Midwest Das Little Stick", powered by a Thunder Tiger .25, found a pine tree after the clevis on the elevator broke. It looks worst than it is, all Bob needs to do is rebuild the wing and this plane will fly again.
04/10/10 - Dirk Braun got a bad case of fumble thumb syndrome with his "Extra 260" during an inverted high speed pass. The plane hit the field, like a stone skipping across a pond, before landing 66 feet from the initial impact.
04/10/10 - Here are a couple more pics of Dirk Braun's "Extra 260" after he skipped it across the field. That's the pilot sitting on the wing in the second pic.
